is a spatial exploration of the intersection between technology and the various states of nature, offering a unique exploration of our complex relationship with the world around us. This exhibition presents this dynamic relationship through 3D renders, data-driven installations, and light-based artworks. These environmental narratives extend beyond the visual, incorporating interactive installations, virtual reality worlds, and sensory experiences, including food and drink experiences curated in collaboration with Aish.
Through a curated selection of local, national, and international artists, ‘Ecological Nexus’ refers to a critical point or connection within ecosystems where various elements and processes converge and interact. Similarly, our collection of artists will use a plethora of new media applications to explore their interpretations of our planet. While some artists highlight the beauty and excellence of nature or focus on Indigenous roots to the land, others convey concerns about carbon waste and crumbling ecosystems. Converging in one space while interacting with one another, the works will contend with one another, creating tension in a space that is visually harmonious. As technology both shapes and mirrors our existence, "Ecological Nexus" invites audiences to question, reflect, and engage in a dialogue about the impact of human innovation on our planet. Acknowledging the paradox of using technology, often blamed for environmental harm, to illuminate nature's wonders, "Ecological Nexus" embraces the responsibility to contribute to the ongoing conversation about eco-environmental concerns and celebrations.
